GOAL: To provide instruction and Christian Formation to children and youth, ages 7 to 17, who are seeking baptism, or have not been recently involved in religious education.
The first part of the program is to build a foundation of Faith Formation learning about the Catholic faith and our call to follow Christ. plus some informal meetings about what it means to be baptized in the faith, to have their questions answered, and to decide if this is what they want to do. The second part is an additional year of Fatih Formation and a series of more formal classes and Rites at Mass where the children learn prepare to receive the Sacraments during the Easter season. It is for children aged 7 or older who have not been baptized. Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (adapted for Children, OCIAC) is also known as Children’s catechumenate.
