This past summer was a blast! Some highlights include going to Lifeteen Camp Hidden Lake, AYC Houston, taking a trip to Brazos Bend State Park (and seeing an alligator eat a bird), bowling and laser tag outings, and growing in our understanding of the Mass thorugh our summer group study. Looking forward to what the fall has in store!

Great Question! After not meeting due to the pandemic for a year, We are very excited to be starting back up! Currently, High School (Grades 9-12) is meeting Wednesday's from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and Middle School (Grades 6-8) is meeting on Sunday's from 4:00-5:30 p.m. We also have some events that are occuring on a weekly or monthly basis.
My name is Chris Wuenscher, I was born in St. Louis, MO and have three younger siblings, Tim, Sarah, and Elizabeth. I grew up in Houston and after high school went to Texas A&M for college (whoop) where I studied meteorology. In college I was challenged to grow deeper in my faith from friends who lived it out much better than I did. I remember one day my good friend Troy asked, “Chris how is your prayer life?” to which I did not have a sufficient answer. Post-college, I decided to serve as a missionary after college with a Catholic non-profit called NET Ministries, which does retreats for youth. It was during this time that I experienced profound conversion though a regular prayer life and came to recognize myself as a beloved son of God the Father. After being a missionary for two years, I decided to enter the seminary to discern a call to the priesthood for our Archdiocese here in Houston. Ultimately though much discernment I realized the Lord was not calling me to be a priest, but the desire to serve the Church still remained. My hope here at St. Maximilian is that the Lord can use an unworthy vessel like myself to help form young men and women to be life-long faithful Catholics and disciples of Jesus Christ.
In my free time I enjoy playing disc golf and basketball, camping, reading good books, and continuing my quest of finding the world's best tacos.
